You ruin me
Like the restless tossing of the waves
My mind cannot rest for the thought of you
As in the relentless heat of the sun
My spirit burns in memories of you
For even if I flee as a deer to the mountains
My heart is drawn back by the thought of you
As startled birds fleeing
All my thoughts fly from me when I think of you
I build my defence in my mind
But they crumble in your wake
I seek for some refuge
Yet how can one seek shelter from you?
‘How long’ I cry as I am swept away by the torrent of tears
I rail at the walls of the prison of my mind.
Is there no escape save for the tread of time?
Is there no escape for a soul worn and bitter?
